Natte Voeten is a work of art that translates the urgent water problem in the Netherlands into an audiovisual experience. The characteristic blue shell contains remains of the Dutch landscape and shows the flood map of our country when the sea level rises by 1 meter or more.
Currently, 59% of the land area of the Netherlands would be vulnerable to flooding without dikes, dams and flood defenses. After 2050, the risk of flooding due to sea level rises and the risk of river flooding will increase.
The work invites you to stand on the last part of the Netherlands, where you are challenged to stay in balance. Which is a symbolic translation of our vulnerable relationship with the water. At the same time you listen to a story about the Netherlands as a water country in the past, present and future.
